SUMMARY
Platylabus foxi Davis, 1898 was synonymized under Ambloplisus (=Thaumatotheles) ornatus Cresson, 1896 by Townes (1944: 314)[1]. It was then resurrected by Heinrich (1959: 216)[2] who place the species under the new genus Tropicholabus Heinrich, 1959.
The species is known only from the holotype.
